In this workshop, Wendo will show you how to create a wire armature and then, using wool fibre, you will fill out your rodent and create a whimsical dancing critter.

Carrie of Wyldespun loves teaching others to spin and crochet - especially when that includes a lighthearted, fun approach with quick projects.

The workshop will provide each attendee with all the supplies you will need for this project which will include a 'Wyldespun Double ended Mini Spindle with removable whorl (which leaves you with a crochet hook!), dyed yarn and locks and additives. Knitting or crochet is not the only way to create a beautiful lace scarf. This workshop will explore Torchon bobbin lace stitches suitable for working with sock-weight yarn. Absolute beginners will learn three beautiful ground stitches to create lacy net scarves. For those with some knowledge of Torchon lace, additional stitches can be incorporated to add textural interest, such as spiders, whole- and half-stitch diamonds, and roseground. This workshop will produce a sample and the knowledge necessary to scale that up to a scarf. You provide the yarn and Cat will provide the pricking (pattern).
Cat has been working with multiple all natural mediums for many years.

Participants should bring #1-superfine sock weight yarn suitable for next-to-the-neck wear. This is a great opportunity to use up scraps.

Supported spindles are a fun way to carry your spinning where ever you go! In this workshop we will learn how to get started using a supported spindle, try different types of fibre prep and work on techniques. Everyone should leave this workshop with the ability to start spinning on the supported spindle and keep spinning until the spindle is full. Discussions on how to take the spun fibre off the spindle and what are the best ways to ply will also be covered.
Jane possesses an Ontario Handspinning Certificate and has been involved in the fibre world for many years.

The workshop will provide each attendee with a spindle, a spindle bowl and enough prepared fibre to spin in the workshop and have some to take home. The kit fee is $35 payable in cash to the workshop instructor.
If the participant likes they can bring their own spindles and we can discuss the pro's and con's of the spindle.

Craftivism is a movement of using our voices in the arts and crafts to express our concerns and Canadians right now have a lot of concerns. Learn the art of punch needle rug hooking AND express yourself. This piece is inspired by our Prime Minister insisting that Canada is not for sale. The design offers a chance for beginners to cover all the basics of punch needle rug hooking with many advanced options for the more experienced puncher. Punch needle is like painting with wool and the possibilities are endless. This is a great opportunity to try a new design and get some of your frustrations out of the way.

The workshop will provide each attendee with a 24 inch square piece of monk's cloth serged and yarn - with options to choose at the workshop The kit fee is $60 payable in cash to the workshop instructor.
The participant will need to bring a gripper frame or no-slip hoop-10 inch minimum, Oxford Punch Needle #10 Regular, Oxford Punch Needle #10 Fine - optional, and scissors.
If necessary, the loan of a frame and needle can be arranged with the instructor.

Learn to use weaving sticks. The wonderfully portable and absolutely no counting way to weave. In this workshop we will thread the weaving sticks and weave (then stitch up) scrap fabric pumpkins. Super adorable way to use up the scrap fabric around your home. During this workshop we will also discuss and brainstorm many ways that you can use this fabric. It is the perfect alternative for those evenings or days where counting is awful, stitches aren't working, and you just need something creative and fast.
Carrie Chant is a partner in Wyldespun and is a self-taught fibre artist with a wicked creative streak.

The kit fee includes a set of seven hand carved Wyldespun weaving sticks carved from fallen branches, lengths of cotton warp, crochet hook to make the "stem", large sewing needle to thread and sew together, scrap fabric and yarn will be available to choose from to complete the project.
